Hearts Around the House!

Hello Glitterinas!

Thank you so much for taking time to stop by Pink Glitter
to take a look at some of my favorite "heart things".

You won't find decorations all over the place but I do have some
favorites that I trot out each year!

Many of my favorite valentine decorations are made from vintage children's valentine cards.

Let's take a look.....

This little ribbon has decorated clips that hold some
cute valentine wishes from Husband and I.

It's pinned on a quilt that's hanging on a large, wooden wardrobe
we refinished the first summer we were married.

That was 34 years ago.....holy moly....

Here's a wreath that has found the perfect place to hang!

I like it here!  What do you think?

I made this little cutie last year.....it's base is a heavy, wire wreath form.

Little pink bows add a nice touch!

There are some little touches of glitter here and there!

Our fireplace certainly needs it's own touch of hearts.....

Cowboy valentine cards on traditional, little heart doilies.....cute little guys!

Let's move on into the kitchen.....

I enjoy having this little table in the kitchen....
sometimes it holds plates, napkins and silverware,
sometimes it's just a place for pretties.

A heart plate here.....

.....a sign there....

.....some sweet touches we'll enjoy for just a short time.....

......oh, who am I kidding....
my husband will tell me things look nice, but he'd rather see that plate piled with cookies!

I decorate around the house because I enjoy it!

I also enjoy sharing with all of you sweeties who
take time to stop by.

Thanks again for letting me share.

One quick question before I close......

Will you be my Valentine?

Until next time,
Tammy

Time for Some Hearts and Red, Red, Red!

Hello Glitterinas!

I can hardly believe the January days are passing so quickly.

That means Valentine's Day is right around the corner.....enjoyable for some, not so much for others.

Which category do you fall into?

It's enjoyable for me.....Valentine's Day has always been one of my favorite days!

I think paper, heart doilies are pretty.....

I think chocolate candy is delicious....

I think vintage valentines are so special.....

Then there are flowers, XOXO's,
and excited children with their shoe box valentine boxes!

Do you remember decorating your valentine box?

I don't decorate a valentine mailbox anymore......
but I do enjoy some special touches around our house!

I decided to use red and gold on the dining room table for Valentine's Day this year.

Let me share some snaps with you.....

I used some glittery branches in a red vase.....

Along with some sparkly ribbon pieces tucked in around the edge.

There are a few gold, heart ornaments hanging from the glittery branches!

To continue with the gold-y look I used a couple of brass candle sticks and a little gold, ceramic votive that I got years ago in New Orleans.

I like the red, red, red.....what do you think?

The last touch is a small tray with red edges and flowers on which I put a red, metal rose and a little valentine girl.

I hope you and all your special valentines are gathering up the hearts, glitter, stickers, cards and other goodies you need to celebrate a fun and happy day!

Thank you for letting me share my red and gold table.

I am so glad you stopped by to see what was going on here at Pink Glitter!

I will share some more hearts around our house next time.

Until then,
Tammy

I Needed Another Wreath....How About You?!

Hello Glitterinas!

Last year after Christmas I stopped by Target and bought some silver and gold ornaments.....and a few gold, glitter snowflakes.

They were marked down, marked down....yay!

Do you ever check out the after Christmas mark downs?

I had read and seen online just how easy it was to make a wreath
out of ornaments....

So I decided to give it a try!

I used a wire clothes hanger, strung the ornaments on it and added a bow.

It was as simple as I had read!

I LOVE it when craft projects turn out the way I want them to!

I don't have any pictures of the actual construction of this wreath
because I made it long before I started blogging.

If you want to make one of these simple (but pretty) wreaths you CAN!

I had a few ornaments left over after the project.....

So, when I got the wreath out this year, I piled the extras into a large hurricane glass with some of the gold, glitter snowflakes.

I think they look nice sitting on the side table.

How do you think they look?

The tall candle sticks and the little snowman got a glitter snowflake, too!

More sparkle.....I like it!

One more little thing.....a hanging group of clock faces......a little nod to the New Year!

If you have a place that is calling out for a wreath....find some ornaments in two or three colors you like

and give this simple wreath a try!  You can do it!

Happy New Wreath!

Until next time,
Tammy

Just a Bit More Snow!

Hello Glitterinas!

There's no snow outside here in Texas, but there are several snowmen sitting around inside our house looking cute!

Is there snow where you live?

Is there a snowman in your front yard?

I have one on my dining room table!

He's rather stylish in his ear muffs and scarf!

I added a pair of tall, painted candlesticks and some mercury glass candle holders to the dining room table.

I also stood Mr. Snow on a cut glass platter with a lacy doily.....he looks good!

What do you think?

Running down the table is a strand of pearly, flat, cream colored beads.....I have them in cream and pink.....I use then quite a bit.  I bought them years ago in Salado....I think they called them table jewelry.  How could I resist?!

Don't I have a white table runner?

Yes, I do.....it just took some looking to find it!

It adds a nice touch to this tablescape.....don't you think?

Comparing with and without the beads......

This next picture was taken from a little further back......you can see the snowflakes and crystal drops hanging above the table.

I cut some grape vines from the yard and worked them into the dining room light fixture.

I hung glittered leaves on the vines at Thanksgiving and a few snowflakes for Christmas.

Now, for January, I've added more snowflakes and some crystal drops!

I think it's pretty and it makes me happy.

I like seeing all this pretty snowiness!

Let's make some hot chocolate with lots of marshmallows and sit at the table with Mr. Snow.

We can talk about all the fun and interesting things we want to do this year......

Thank you so much for letting me share my dining room table decorations with you.

I am so glad you stopped by.....

Until next time,
Tammy
