Some Backyard Time

Hello Glitterinas!

You are here just in time to take a memory walk with me.

We had some much needed and appreciated
rain this past spring.  It helped everything grow a bit
greener and prettier!

We are almost at the end of a very hot summer
and I'm missing all the lovely flowers......

I'm sharing lots of pictures today.....so be
warned!

Let's go....

All these lovely roses were blooming on
a large running rose that was just
one little scrawny cane a couple years ago!

Green thumbed Husband has added
several raised beds to our backyard.

This one was planted with several
PINK flowers!

This miniature rose bush bloomed like crazy!

Wasn't it so pretty, Glitterinas?

The grand~darlings accompanied their Pops
(sweet husband who is such a good grandpa)
to the store to pick out some flowers ......

.....just a couple of the colorful choices they made.

Well hello, Miss Spider!
I didn't realize you'd be joining me!

We also have a bright green lizard that lives amongst
the roses.....he was a bit shy and didn't
want to have his picture taken.

Better luck to me next time!

Here are some more flowers that made
our backyard so pretty and colorful.

My very busy friend, Sarge, always
joins me during backyard time.

He will sometimes take a moment
to smell the flowers.....

......he was probably sniffing around for
some buggar in the plants.

Sarge keeps us safe by being on duty
24/7......
except of course when he's taking a much deserved nap!

We had a lovely spring.....and a crazy hot summer
as school starts for the grand~darlings....time is marching on.

I'm so glad you joined me to enjoy
some pretty flowers!  I hope these lovely blooms
help you feel a bit cooler.

Thanks bunches, Glitterinas!

Blessed beyond belief,
Tammy

Rainbow Unicorn Bark

Hello Glitterinas!

Today I want to share a recipe that can be personalized
for any season, party, holiday you choose!

Here we go....

Pick out the sprinkles you want to use.

Melt 5-6 cubes of white chocolate.

I place the cubes in a pyrex measuring cup
and microwave them in 30 second blasts.

White chocolate is persnickety so don't heat for
longer periods.

Stir, stir, stir......when the chocolate is smooth
it's ready.

Spread this onto a parchment paper covered
cookie sheet.

Don't worry about completely smoothing
out the top.  Just get the chocolate spread out.

Working quickly, sprinkle the chocolate with
whatever sprinkles go with your theme.

This time I used rainbow sprinkles with gold stars!
Oooooh, so fancy!

Lightly pat the sprinkles so they will
adhere to the chocolate.

This bark can be made for any occasion....

red and green sprinkles for Christmas

gold and silver for New Year's

pink and pearls for my birthday

pastel and bunnies for Easter

red, white and blue for July 4th

and the list just goes on and on!

How fun!

This bark is very sweet and needs to be broken into small pieces
when it has cooled.

Store it in a plastic bag, in the refrigerator, until
you are ready to serve it.

I served mine on a plate that was sitting on
another plate holding a freezy bag so it would stay cool.

If you need something fun and pretty to
serve at a get together, give this simple bark a try!

This is a fun recipe to make with children.
They will love eating it, too!

Thanks so much for letting me share this
easy and fun recipe with you!

I hope your days are passing by smoothly
and that happiness finds you each day!

Fondly,
Tammy

An Artichoke Spinach Snack

Welcome, welcome Glitterinas!

I'm in the kitchen today making a
simple snack for us to enjoy
this afternoon.

Having time to bake during the day is
a very enjoyable part of my retirement!

Today our snack is
Artichoke Spinach Pick-Ups!

This recipe needs very few
items....

cresent roll dough
artichoke spinach dip
(your favorite creamy dip works nicely also)
sea salt

.....that's it!

You'll need a cookie sheet,
non stick spray,
and a pizza cutter.

Let me show you just how simple
this snack is to make!

Spritz your cookie sheet or pizza pan
with your favorite non stick spray.

Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees.

Unroll cresent roll dough.....

.....choose a filling.

We love this creamy dip, so I almost always
have it on hand.

A creamy dip that you like better and have on hand
can also be used.

Spread a thin layer of your dip of choice
on half of the dough.

Fold the dough over....

......and believe it or not,
you are almost finished!

Using a pizza cutter, cut dough
into small finger sized pieces.

Spread the pieces out.....

.....and give the pieces a light hit of sea salt.

Now this yummy snack is ready for the oven!

Into the oven it goes for 15-17 minutes.
Watch for browning.....when the pieces are
browned they are ready.

When I remove the snacks from the oven
I put them on a small tray to cool
before we eat them.....this is always a difficult step
for my sweet husband!

Browned nicely......

......yummy little snacks.....

.....with just a touch of crunch
on the bottom.

These can be cut in half before baking if you
are serving them at a party or gathering.

These can also be served with softened, herb butter
to dip in.

Husband is always very complimentary about
baked goodies......he's a smart guy who
wants to continue being the official
tester at our house!

These little goodies are simple to make
and very easy to enjoy....

give them a try Glitterinas!

Thank you so much for stopping by
and sharing some time with me.

Leave me a note so I'll know you stopped by!

I hope you are having some lovely
 sunshine to enjoy, friends.....but also
staying cool!

Blessed beyond belief,
Tammy
