Texas Pecan Pound Cake....so yummy!

Hello Glitterinas!

Here's a recipe for a very delicious pound cake.  I tweeked the original recipe a bit.

It will be enjoyed by anyone who loves a good, old-fashioned slice of pound cake.

I found this recipe a month or so ago and my husband has been wanting
me to make it ever since I told him about it.  He loves sweets.....this cake did not disappoint either of us!

TEXAS PECAN POUND CAKE

INGREDIENTS:
4 sticks butter
4 cups sugar
4 cups flour (cake or all purpose)
8 large eggs
8 oz. cream cheese
3 tsp of vanilla
1 cup pecans, chopped
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup powered sugar
3-4 T. water
pecan halves, for garnish, if desired

INSTRUCTIONS:
Leave cream cheese, butter, and eggs out to reach room temperature.

In mixer, cream butter, cream cheese, and sugar until smooth. Add eggs, one at a time. Then, add flour, one cup at a time. Next, add vanilla flavoring.  Sprinkle brown sugar and chopped pecans into batter and stir in well.

Grease and flour bundt pan and pour in batter.

Bake at 300º for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Then, increase the temperature to 325º and bake for an additional 30 minutes. Test the cake with a wooden skewer to check for doneness. The utensil should come out dry and clean (no batter). Bake 5 more minutes if not quite done.

Remove from the oven and allow about 30 minutes to cool before removing from pan. Turn the cake out onto serving plate or cake stand.  Mix powered sugar and water until smooth and drizzle onto the cake.  Garnish with pecan halves, if desired.

There you go, Glitterinas!

Give this recipe a try......you'll enjoy it!  If you are taking dessert somewhere, I think you should give this recipe a try.  Enjoy!

Thanks so much for stopping by Pink Glitter!

Happy baking,
Tammy
