Autumn.....All Over the Place!

 What's your favorite season, Glitterinas?

My favorite has just arrived.....on the calendar, anyway!

So, I brought out my Autumn
"things"......

My grand~darlings helped!

They each have their favorites......
and wanted to help me make sure
things are arranged just so......

I store some seasonal things in cabinets
in our dining area.

Here are the things I retrieved......

......I was smiling and whistling while I
brought these pretties out of their storage places.

The grands laughed.

My helpers and I put some things away to make room for
these autumn lovelies.

Then we got busy placing this and that
where it would look nice!

Let's take a tour of the house.....

.....the den has more fall touches than any other room.

This little silver frame holds one of my favorite
 projects.

I made this collage from a vintage book page,
a vintage Halloween post card,
some scraps of Halloween paper, and
 little bits of sparkly trim.

More touches of Halloween will join this little collage
when October arrives.

If you like this little collage,
you could make one, too!

Let's keep walking......

The kitchen has it's share of fall touches, too!

The grands enjoy all the pretties we put out in
the dining room.

They like to talk about who arranged what
while we eat dinner.

These teeny, tiny pumpkins are really fun
for them to move around!

This old, rusty wire display piece is one
of my favorite pieces to arrange.

I could play with dishes all day....

.....see, here's another attempt .....

.....I seriously doubt the dishes will stay this way
for long!

The grands enjoy eating from these pumpkin plates....

....the matching mugs are fun, too

Let's see a couple more small touches....

......hall bath room....

......and finally, the guest room.

Where do like to add fall touches in your house,
Glitterinas?

Inside or outside.....
or both?

Thanks for walking through our house with
me....

I appreciate you letting me share the fall
touches that decorate our house.

I hope the weather is cooling off
where you are!

Until next time,
Tammy

Strawberry Jalapeno Jelly For Our Son-In-Law

I have a wonderful son-in-law.

He is a great husband to our oldest daughter
and a
wonderful, loving father to our
three grand~darlings.

He works hard, loves his parents.....
his list of accolades is long, Glitterinas!

He also has a birthday coming up......

Some years I buy his gift, if I know
there's something in particular he wants.

This year I decided to make most of
his birthday present.

I started with
Strawberry Jalapeno Jelly.

Let me share this delicious
recipe with you.

Begin with

1 1/2 c. chopped jalapeños
2 c. chopped strawberries
(let the strawberries get as ripe as you can
so their flavor can stand up to the peppers)
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. lemon juice

Cook these ingredients on med high, stirring occasionally, until the
sugar dissolves.

Then sprinkle in 6 T. pectin and continue to stir
for about 5 minutes.

Place jelly into sterilized jar/jars to be canned.
Top with a new lid and band.
Can in a water bath.

This recipe makes about 12 oz.

All of these recipes can easily be
doubled or tripled.

The next jalapeno goodie I made
was .....

Candied Jalapeños

This recipe starts with

1 c. sliced jalapeños and carrots
1 1/2 c. sugar

1/2 white onion, sliced into half rings

1 c. white vinegar
1/4 c. water

Combine all these ingredients in a sauce pan.
Cook on med high heat, stirring occasionally,
for 15 minutes.

Place all the veggies in a sterilized jar and
fill with some more of the cooked juice.

Top with a new lid and band.

Can in a water bath.

This makes about 8 oz.

Do you sense a theme, Glitterinas?

Son-in-law loves hot and spicy
food,
sauces,
and
treats.

So, for his special day this year he's
receiving a basket of
HOT!

I made one more thing that
will be in the gift basket.

Jalapeno Pecan Spread

The recipe for it.....

In a food processor,

1 c. jalapeños, packed
1 1/2 c. pecans

Pulse....pulse.....

My sweet father-in-law picked out pecans
and brought them to me to keep in
the freezer.

How lucky am I?

Scrape down the sides of the food processor
and add
1/3 c. sugar.

Pulse.....pulse.

This makes about 12 oz.

That's it, Glitterinas!

Put the spread into an air tight
container and keep it in the refrigerator.

This spread will go into the
gift basket last.....
right before the gift is opened.

This spread is so versatile.

It's delicious on...

chicken
beef
pork chops
cream cheese and crackers
halved tomatoes
toast

and a spoon!

I like to use these large cans of
sliced jalapeños....

I hope you'll give one or all of these
hot and spicy recipes a try.

Let me now how they turn out!

I'll be packing his basket with these jalapeño
goodies and some more spicy treats, crackers
 and sauces I've picked up.

Almost ready......

I hope he likes his birthday treats!

Thanks so much Glitterinas,
for joining me here at
Pink Glitter today.

Until next time,
Tammy

I Love Scarecrows, Yes I Do! I Love Scarecrows, How 'Bout You?

Oh, Glitterinas.....
Fall is here!

The weatherman tells me cooler days
are on their way.....
September is marching on rather
quickly!

This is exciting for me because
I am getting my scarecrows and other
Fall decorations out!

Fall is my favorite season!

I like it because the weather
cools off a bit, I make yummy
recipes that have pumpkin in them,
I get to watch my college
football team, and
I decorate with some
really cute scarecrows!

Yes, that's definitely why I love Fall!

Look at these cute smiles....

Don't they make you want to smile, too,
Glitterinas?

I've had this guy since our oldest daughter
was a little girl!

That little girl now has three cuties of her own....
10 years, 8 years, and almost 6 years!

These scarecrows just keep smiling
through each and every Fall.

This happy guy is my newest addition to
the scarecrow crew.....

.....he's sitting by the fireplace this year to
help keep an eye on all the pumpkins....

.....I'll share more pumpkin cuteness next time.

Thank you so much for stopping by,
Glitterinas!

I thank you for letting me share these
smiling straw friends with you!

Come on cool weather......
Tammy's got a new sweater!

Smiles to you,
Tammy
