A Christmas Village

Hello, Glitterinas!

Thank you so much for taking time to 

open this post and read about....

.....this little, twinkling Christmas village.

I enjoy setting up this table top 

village and remembering how much 

my Mom liked it!

The red and cream quilt that these little buildings 

are displayed on is one 

of my vintage quilts that I bought several years 

ago.....the pattern is called 

Bear's Claw.

I use it often at Christmas as the base 

for displays or as a tablecloth layer.

Mom used a white table cloth and some 

puffy white "snow" when she put this 

village out at home.

We lived near the Texas Gulf 

Coast so this snow was the only snow around!

Let me show you around this cute little village 

that my family and I are enjoying.....

I like the little Santa helpers who stand out in front of 

this house....

.....they are ready for some holiday fun!

Turning on the lights transforms this street of buildings

 into a twinkling Christmas village.

It makes me smile when I walk by and glance at each 

of these seasonal pieces.

What Christmas village would be complete 

without a fun, holly-painted 

Christmas train?

A Snowman Mug to Make

When we were together last 

we stirred up some really delicious cocoa mixes.

I promised to show you how to make 

a cute snowman mug.

Let's get busy.....

Using Sharpies, design and draw a simple 

snowman face on a plain, white mug.

I practiced on a piece of paper to make sure

I had the spacing right for the eyes, nose and mouth.

When you have the design just the way you like it,

draw it on the mug.

Then personalize it, too!

Place the mugs into a cold oven, turn the oven on to 

350 degrees for 30 minutes and then turn the oven off and 

let the mugs cool completely (overnight is good) in the oven.

I place the mugs on a cookie sheet for easy handling.

I made these for my sisters-in-law for a

little Christmas goodie.

I stacked each mug with a jar of hot chocolate mix

and a jar of white chocolate mix.

I wrapped each stack in plastic wrap....

Each mug got an info card with directions for mixing 

up the dry mixes into a cup of yumminess!

Gather up the plastic wrap and tie it off....

.....finish each stack off with a cute bow!

I bet you have someone on your list 

who would enjoy some delicious cocoa mix and 

a cute, personalized mug.

These could be cute for a family night, too!

Homemade Cocoa Mix.....and a Surprise....or Two!

This cocoa mix is so good.

It's wonderful to have for yourself 

and 

it makes a nice gift!

Let me show you how quick and easy it is 

to mix up, Glitterinas!

Gather up a few ingredients and kitchen items....

cocoa

coffee creamer

sugar

mixing bowl

measuring cups

spoon

Mix together

1 cup cocoa

2 cups creamer

1-2 cups sugar 

(my family likes sweet, sweet so mine usually 

has more than less sugar)

I use this slotted spoon because it's good for getting 

the lumps out.

Tah Dah!  That's it, Glitterinas!

Now your mix is ready to be placed in an

air tight container.

I store mine in a big mason jar......I gift this mix in 

short mason jars.

My canning funnel is a great helper when 

putting the mix into jars!

A cute, simple label and a white cupcake liner 

make a nice topper for each jar of cocoa mix.

Here's a surprise for you, Glitterinas!

White Chocolate Mix recipe

Mix this up and add a jar of it to the 

Hot Cocoa Mix for a yummy gift.

Let's mix this one up.....

....it's as simple as the other recipe!

The ingredients are....

white chocolate instant pudding 

french vanilla coffee creamer

sugar

Wanna guess what the steps are?

You guessed it, didn't you, Glitterinas?

Mix together

one package of white chocolate pudding mix, dry

one cup french vanilla coffee creamer

1-2 cups sugar

Mix....mix....

Stir until all lumps are out.

Store in an air tight container.

For gifts, I make a label for the top of each jar.

Now you have two really delicious mixes 

to enjoy when it's get chilly outside!

There are some other scrumptious flavors that can be

added into the cocoa mixes to vary things.....you can use these

instead of the coffee creamer or in addition to them.

Next time I'll show you a very cute mug 

to go with these mixes if you want a 

gift for someone special!

Pumpkin Spice Butter

Good Morning, Glitterinas!

I have been enjoying this 

yumminess at breakfast.

It's only available for a short time each fall.

The other morning I had an idea for some special 

butter to go on my Pumpkin Spice toast, 

so.....

I added some pumpkin pie spice and a little hit of stevia,

for sweetness,   

to some butter (or Country Crock spread).

Stir.....

....stir....

....and spread on some hot toast!

Enjoy this treat with some delicious coffee that has.....

guess what?!?

Pumpkin spice creamer....

oh yummo!

It's a pumpkin spice kinda morning!

When I don't use all of the yummy butter mixture....

.....I get to have 

Pumpkin Spice Breakfast 

part deux 

tomorrow!

Trust me when I say this is a very yummy 

way to start the day!

Now that I've had breakfast, I 

am ready to wrap some more Christmas presents!

Christmas Countdown!

The countdown to Christmas has already begun....

but I'd like to share something I made 

for our grand~darlings.

I wanted them to have a fun way to

 countdown the days until Christmas.

I bought each sister a puzzle and a LEGO set 

for little brother.

I opened each one and divided them 

into 20 little piles.

Each little pile of puzzle pieces and LEGO pieces went 

into a trimmed down lunch sack.

Four of the sacks had candy placed into them.

The grands will not be expecting that!  Yay!

I printed off a page of 24 cute, countdown 

circles and punched them out.

I stapled a number circle on each sack.....

Starting with bag number 24, I tied red yarn on each bag and hung 

it from a coat hanger. 

I repeated the yarn and hanging step 

with all of the other 23 bags....

......right down to bag 3.....

2.....

1!

I can't wait for the kiddos to finish opening the bags

and complete their puzzles and LEGO set!
