Oh, Christmas Tree.....

I wait for eleven months each year
to decorate our Christmas Tree, Glitterinas!

Sometime around June or July I really
start thinking about a theme..... a color......

Well this year,  I decided to use
my gingerbread collection of ornaments
and things to decorate the tree.

I found a few cute gingerbread clip art images that I wanted to
make something with.....

I began putting the gingerbread people
on red and green shapes.....boring!

Next, I tried vintage Christmas cards......blah, not exactly
what I wanted.

I found some very cute vintage bingo cards online
and decided to try them with the gingerbread
clip art......hmmm, still not right.

The gingerbread people were just not working for me.....

Poop!

I decided to try some traditional Christmas images.....

BINGO!

Ha, ha, ha, I am so easily amused....

I really like the way these cards turned out!

After a quick addition of glitter....
(you knew there's be glitter, didn't you?!?)

......they were just what I wanted!

I covered some clothes pins with seasonal paper and
glittered some others to use when
attaching the bingo cards to the tree.

I found some other images to use, too....

.....some vintage-y looking Santas and
some tags made from old Shiny Brite
ornament boxes.

These decorations paired with several
banner strings made from
old history book pages turned out to
be just right for our tree this year!

I didn't even use my gingerbread men.

However, the gingerbread storage box did get
organized and repacked out in the store room!

That little organizational task made me
feel so accomplished!

Back to the tree.....

I think it turned out kinda cute, what do you think??

I used the large galvanized tub
that I had pumpkins in for the fall,
to stand the tree in.....I placed an old
quilt top that has lots of red in it, around the
stand inside the tub.

Having a choo choo train running around the
base of my Christmas tree is something I've
wanted for awhile.

This year, it happened!

I found this little cutie at Home Depot!

Choo choo......all aboard!

It means so much to me that you take time
to read my thoughts and look through my pictures
here at Pink Glitter!
Thank you!

Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones!

Hugs and holly with a tiny sprinkle of glitter,
Tammy

The Christmas Tour Continues......

Welcome back, Glitterinas!

Let's continue our tour of all
things holiday at
Five Gables Farm!

Into the woods we go......
oops, I mean into the
kitchen....

I enjoy decorating the island in here.

This year we have a feather tree with
lots of tiny silverware and mercury glass
ornaments....

This tree is standing in an old galvanized
bucket that Papaw gave to me.

I thought it was a mini trash can, but it has a small
spigot on the side, so I think it must have had a different purpose.

Oh well, it's purpose now is to be cute....
do you like it, Glitterinas?

One of my Christmas glitter spoons is joining the other
shiny items on this tree....kinda cute, huh?

I am lucky to have two nice windows above my sink.

I decorate here with things that I really
enjoy looking at everyday.

Here's a very important question....

.....and here's a few more holiday touches tucked
around the kitchen!

Snoopy is one of my very favorite
cartoon characters.

When Husband and I went to look at dish patterns
before we got married, my Mom asked him to
please not let me pick out anything with
Snoopy on it!

Boy, she had lots of confidence in my taste,
didn't she?!

Well, no Snoopy dishes for us.....
but Husband did paint some rather cute
Peanuts ornaments for me.....

Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy and the whole
gang look very festive on their sparkly, silver
tree!

I like the way the red berries on this garland show
up on the white in the
hall bathroom.

I like having touches of Christmas all
around the house.....

.....aren't these Santas cute hanging out on the guest room bed?

Let me share just a few more pretties with you....

When I was a little girl, this elf sat on a
kissing ball that hung in my bedroom door
every Christmas!

Now, he's the elf our grand-darlings search for
when they come to Gigi and Pop's house!

Do you remember getting these as party favors
many, many Christmases ago?

The three smaller Santas are from my 1st, 2nd, and
3rd grade school parties.....

......the larger one always sat on our piano filled with
little peppermint candies!

Gracious, these guys are almost as old as I am!

Glitterinas, thank you so much for taking a Christmas tour with me
and for letting me share some of my favorite
holiday decorations with you!

Little Gingerbread Girl and I want to wish you and your
family a wonderful holiday season.....

......filled with joy, peace and many warm hugs!

Happy Birthday, Jesus!

A Christmas Tour

Welcome to our home, Glitterinas!

I would love to take you on a tour
of our home and share some of
our Christmas trimmings.

Let's go in through the front gate....

Up the sidewalk and onto the front porch.....

Through the screen door you can see the
twinkling lights of our tree.

You can also see Sophie hoping you are here to see her
and spend some time petting her!

Let's go inside.....

....here in our living room we have some of my
favorite Christmas things!

Christmas in Bethlehem....a musical piece that has
the Wise Men and shepherds walking to see
Baby Jesus.

This is our youngest daughter's very favorite
Christmas decoration!

The Nativity Scene that the grand-darlings
can play with....

.....my Aggie Santa....

.....my Mom's silver Nativity scene....

......a basket of books to enjoy during quiet times.....

.....our stockings, that are hung by the
chimney with care each year....

....are all here.....

......and last but certainly not least,
our tree!

Our next stop will be the
dining room table.

Each year after we eat our big Christmas meal, we
pop open the Christmas crackers!

Then wearing our paper party hats, we take
some group pictures....

one or two with happy smiles and then
a crazy snap or two making funny faces!

Silliness, silliness!

All these Santas are lined up and
greeting everyone who visits
Five Gables Farm
at this festive time of year!

Next time, we'll check out the
Christmas-y fun in the kitchen
and the rest of the house.

I am so thankful for each of you
who take time from your busy days
to join me here at
Pink Glitter!

Christmas hugs to each of you, sweet
Glitterinas!

Until next time,
Tammy
